GTB’s Steel Bars are available in sizes of 08 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 16 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, 32 mm and 40 mm diameters, and have high yield strength in conjunction with excellent ductility.
The use of the TMT (Thermo Mechanically Treated) process for the manufacture of reinforcement bars was introduced for the first time in Sri Lanka by GTB Steel in a modern and sophisticated rolling mill having a quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2008 and SLS 375:2009 standards.

Billets sourced from prime steel mills are heated in microprocessor-based, programable logical controlled (PLC) re-heating furnace and then rolled through a series of mill stands, progressively reducing the section to final sizes and shapes of the required bars at controlled temperatures.
As soon as the bar leaves the final stand, it is subject to the THERMEX Thermo Mechanical Process to quench the steel to achieve the desired result of finished GTB TMT 500 bars.
